BFS X Melnitz Presents: THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN Screening, November 4th @ 8pm at James Bridges Theater BFS X Melnitz Presents: THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN Screening, November 4th @ 8pm at James Bridges Theater BFS and Melnitz are excited to announce a screening of THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN at James Bridges Theater. The Electrical Life of Louis Wain is a 2021 bio drama directed by Will Sharpe, from a story by Simon Stephenson both of whom collaborated on the screenplay. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy, Andrea Riseborough, and Toby Jones. “The Electrical Life of Louis Wain” premiered at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival. Synopsis: Louis Wain was many things during his incredible life: artist, inventor, entrepreneur and caretaker. After adopting a stray kitten, he went on to paint the extraordinary images of cats that made him world famous. The Bruin Film Society is UCLA's only resident undergraduate student organization dedicated to the sole purpose of showing, experiencing, and discussing quality film and cinema from all genres and decades. The organization seeks to promote film cultural awareness and to foster a community of avid film lovers who appreciate the medium not only as entertainment, but also as an art. Weekly meetings consist of screenings, discussions, and trivia. Events include our own Oscars-esque awards show, red carpet events, and theater trips. The Bruin Film Society Screening Series brings free early screenings to campus for students, faculty, and alumni.
