Description

Join us for a unique musical experience by Bismuth String Quartet One of Philadelphia's hidden gems, the Bismuth String Quartet, joined by bassist Matt Engle and saxophonist Nicholas McNamara will produce a dynamic sound performance+installation at the Glen Foerd Mansion. The ensemble will present a self-composed electro-acoustic auditory experience drawing inspiration from artist Jennifer Johnson's site-specific installation, An Archive of Desire. Each musician will be arranged in different spaces throughout the mansion, allowing the audience to freely move about and experience kaleidoscopic harmony through a multitude of vantage points. Come discover the fabrics of sound and wander through the music as you explore the expansive Glen Foerd mansion. Drinks will be available for purchase. Mask are required. Built in 1850 and expanded and refurbished throughout its time as a private residence, the Glen Foerd mansion is currently home to an array of historic domestic artifacts, American and European art, and contemporary art installations. Glen Foerd is a Philadelphia oasis situated at the confluence of the Delaware River and Poquessing Creek. The public is welcome to enjoy the grounds and spectacular river views.
