Today's Top North Shore Story: Vaccine Debate Takes Center Stage Salem mayoral candidates Steve Dibble and Kim Driscoll disagreed on plenty during their first debate at Salem State University — including a potential vaccine mandate for Salem Public Schools students and city employees. "Masks are one thing. But requiring a vaccine? I don't agree with that," Dibble said. South End search for armed suspect: A SWAT team is in Boston's South End as part of a search for a person with a gun. Police set up a large crime scene Tuesday morning, and several streets in the neighborhood have been closed. Everyone is being told to avoid the areas of East Berkeley and Albany Streets while Boston police continue the search. Police identify Braintree standoff suspect: Braintree police identified the man they said started an hours-long stand-off with officers after barricading himself inside an apartment while armed with a BB gun. Kameron Thompson, 24, of Braintree, was arrested Friday and charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and threats to commit murder. Sex-trafficking sting nets five Johns: Five men from Massachusetts were indicted on human trafficking charges following a sting operation out of a Rockland hotel, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said Monday. In early August, police organized a setup online, posting a commercial sex advertisement posing as a female escort and using a Rockland hotel as the backdrop to meet up. From 8 p.m. to midnight on Aug. 5, the five men contacted the undercover officer separately and arranged to meet up at the hotel and exchange sexual acts for money.
