Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll has firmly established the MSU women’s golf program as a consistent national power. In her 24 seasons as head coach, Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll has firmly established the Michigan State women’s golf program as a consistent national power. She has led Michigan State to 21 NCAA Regional appearances; 12 trips to the NCAA Championships; and eight Big Ten titles. Additionally, Michigan State has won 43 tournaments during this span. Slobodnik-Stoll is a five-time Big Ten Coach of the Year. In 2021, the Spartans won their third Big Ten title since 2017, having now captured six of the last 10 league crowns. Michigan State went on to the NCAA Louisville Regional, where they finished in the top six to advance to the NCAA Championships. Over the last 20-plus years, Slobodnik-Stoll's players have earned All-Big Ten honors 56 times, including 35 first-team selections, while a Spartan has been named the Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Year on five occasions. In the classroom, Slobodnik-Stoll's teams have been just as successful as on the golf course. In Slobodnik-Stoll’s tenure, Spartan student-athletes have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors on 117 occasions and Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar honors 54 times. For eight consecutive years from 2012-2019, the Spartans boasted the highest GPA among all MSU athletic programs. Slobodnik-Stoll's players have also gone beyond the college ranks, most recently Sarah Burnham earned her LPGA Tour card for 2018, becoming the sixth Spartan in the last 15 years to play on the Tour. In 2017, Slobodnik-Stoll was inducted into the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame. The Spartan coach also continues to compete as a player at a high level. Slobodnik-Stoll has won a record 10 Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) Mid-Amateur Championships. She was named the GAM Women's Player of the Decade in 2010.
