FRAMINGHAM, MA — With just about two weeks to go until Framingham voters head to the polls to either pick a new mayor or keep the incumbent, Patch is talking to each candidate about their vision for the future of the city beyond Election Day. Incumbent Mayor Yvonne Spicer is facing off against Charlie Sisitsky, a former Councilor and select board member. In a conversation with Patch this week, Spicer talked about a range of issues, from future school system budgets to the cost of living in Framingham and relations with the City Council. Spicer was elected Framingham's first mayor in 2017, and is facing a tough challenge in 2021 from Sisitsky. He came out ahead in the Sept. 14 primary by about 2,000 votes, and has the backing of key figures including state Rep. Jack Lewis and School Committee Chair Adam Freudberg. Spicer is asking voters to return her to office so she can continue working on an agenda that she says was partially derailed when the world's focus turned to the coronavirus pandemic. Patch is arranging a similar conversation with Sisitsky.
