WEST HAVEN, CT — To mark the end of a successful growing season, the Tony Inzero Farmers Market will present "Harvest Celebration," an interactive day with farmers, seasonal and guest vendors, and civic organizations — and trick-or-treating, of course.
The Harvest Celebration market is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the Green at Campbell Avenue and Main Street.
"Bring along your family to enjoy the last market of the season," said Karina Curbelo, who manages the farmers market for the mayor's office. "Children will be able to 'tent-or-treat' throughout the market."
Curbelo said vendors will set up tents and give out candy to children. Kids can grab treat bags at the farmers market booth.
The market, held every Thursday and Saturday during the harvest season, features a variety of farm-fresh goods — honey, fruits, vegetables — from longtime Connecticut Grown farmers Mary Ann Borrelli, the owner of Borrelli Farms, and John Marcucio, the owner of Marcucio Farms.
This time of the season, the farmers also offer flowers and pumpkins, Curbelo said.
The Harvest Celebration market will showcase a range of vendors selling such goods as precious metal jewelry, crystal jewelry, homemade candles, handmade masks and handcrafted soaps.
It will also include a resin creation vendor who offers such custom items as tumblers, home decor and artwork. For a complete list of resin creations, visit the market's Facebook page here.
In addition to farmers and vendors, community organizations, including West Haven SustainableCT and the West Haven Prevention Council, will display resources tables with information on programs and services.
