Stamford Downtown To Host 'Parade Spectacular Park Party'

STAMFORD, CT — In place of the traditional Parade Spectacular the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Stamford Downtown has announced plans for the "Parade Spectacular Park Party" in Mill River Park this November. The party was planned in consultation with public health officials and community leaders, Stamford Downtown said in a news release Tuesday. The free community event in Mill River Park will feature giant helium balloons, marching bands and dance/performance groups on Sunday, Nov. 21 from 12 to 3 p.m. Participants will enjoy an hour of performances and activities repeated three times to enable crowds to be effectively managed. Guests can come at any time to watch a sequence for an hour, or come for the whole afternoon and enjoy the show three times over. In keeping with the holiday spirit, Stamford Downtown is again hosting a Thanksgiving meal donation event for pre-registered families identified by Person-to-Person. "We know the Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular is a time-honored community tradition that many look forward to each year and it is our staff's favorite event to produce. While we had to cancel what would have been the 27th annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular last year, we are so happy that the patience and perseverance of our community will allow us to host this alternative event this year," said David Koors, president of Stamford Downtown. "We're confident that those who come Downtown will have an experience that matches their expectations in excitement and joy. For those not yet comfortable in joining in the crowd, we look forward to bringing back the Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular in 2022."
