MILFORD, CT — Republican Dan German, 60, is running for Board of Alderman in Milford. Occupation: Financial Advisor Experience: Board of Alderman (2009-2019) Family in government: No The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: Overdevelopment and smart development. We are rapidly losing our old town charm! Apartment complexes are being allowed to be built almost anywhere, while the Post Road, Rte 1, is riddled with vacant buildings and blight properties. Critical differences between me and my opponents: My common-sense business and financial practices. My common-sense health and wellness experience. Accomplishments: I served on the Board of Alderman for 10 years (2009-2019). I am a Small Business Owner in Milford 35+ years. I am currently a Financial Advisor for individual and small businesses. I am a long time Health and Wellness coach. And I am a lifelong Milford resident! Other issues: I am concerned with where my town is headed; overdevelopment, lack of maintenance, lack of government transparency, lack of smart development, and public safety. And Taxes do not reflect the growth and increases in residential real estate values. Also, I am very concerned what is being taught to our young children in our Milford schools, and of which is 60% of your taxpayer dollars. What else would you like voters to know about you? I am running for Board of Alderman because I love this town, I grew up here, attended Mathewson School and Milford High School. I owned and operated a gym in Milford for 23 years (Creative Health & Fitness). Now I am a Holistic Financial Advisor in town, helping people save money and taxes and securing their future. Along with good health, many need help with a good financial plan including this municipality.
