ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating a report of shots being fired in the Shirlington area shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account. No injuries have been reported. Officers responded to the 4400 block of 31st St. S. before 10 a.m. As police investigated the incident, S. Abington Street and 31st St. S. were closed to traffic in both directions for about an hour. The streets have been reopened. ACPD released a preliminary description of the the suspect. Police say the suspect was a male, with medium length dreads. He was wearing a black hoodie, jeans and a black neck gaiter. Police say a dark blue Toyota Prius was seen fleeing the area.
