EDGEWOOD, MD — A pedestrian was hit by a car in Edgewood on Monday afternoon, according to police. Officials say the vehicle left the scene and is missing its passenger-side mirror.
After noon, troopers said they were called to US 40/Pulaski Highway near Reeds Run Road, where a pedestrian had been hit.
A man was walking on or near the right shoulder of the road when a gray or silver Nissan passenger car hit him, according to Maryland State Police.
The victim was flown to the R Adams Cowley University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police, who did not provide any identifying information about him.
Investigators said the vehicle that hit him should have passenger-side headlight damage and will be missing its passenger-side mirror.
