Description

Press release from Johnson City Public Library: Hannah Kiger October 19, 2021 The ghosts at your Library got lonely while we were closed in 2020, and now they're making up for lost time. They're spooking and scaring and keeping people from escaping the Library! Your kids ages 8-12 can work together with others to "escape" from the Library in our virtual Spooky Escape Room this Saturday, October 23. There are two time slots available: 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. (Please register for only one session.) Spots are limited, so call (423) 434-4458 to register and get the Zoom link! School Age Program Coordinator Jennifer Johnson says, "I know an online escape room may sound strange, but the way we do it is actually very similar to an in-person one." A room is set up like a real escape room, with objects and clues scattered around and the escape key in a locked box. The kids still work together to brainstorm and work out what to do next, just like they would in a traditional escape room. "The difference", Jennifer says, "is that the kids get to tell me what to do and I act it out for them!" Please call (423) 434-4458 if you have questions or want to register your kids for the Spooky Escape Room. jcpl.org This press release was produced by Johnson City Public Library.
