Description
PLAINFIELD, IL — Off-Broadway hit show "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" is coming to Joliet's Jacob Henry Mansion Nov. 5. Originally scheduled for March 2020, the rescheduled show will help fundraise for the nonprofit Breast Intentions of Illinois.
The original iteration of the show premiered at New York City's Washington Square United Methodist Church in 1988. The interactive comedy — where audience members play the role of Tony and Tina's families — follows the bridal party through Times Square to Guy's American Kitchen & Bar, where guests celebrate the newlyweds.
Tickets to the show — directed by Tony Lauria — are $75 and include dinner, a champagne toast and wedding cake. There are also a limited number of tickets available at the bride and groom's table. As of Monday, 35 total tickets were left for sale, according to the Breast Intentions of Illinois's Facebook page.
"We are so happy and excited to finally be able to present this very special event after what seems like the longest case of cold feet, ever!" Breast Intentions President Lou Ann Peck said in a statement.
Breast Intentions of Illinois, started in 2010, has raised and donated $182,000 to help 144 breast cancer patients with rent, medical needs and general supplies, according to a news release.
Tickets can be purchased on the nonprofit's website. Cocktail hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m.
