CONCORD, NH — WalletHub, an online financial services company, has released its best colleges list including the top schools in New Hampshire. The company analyzed more than 1,000 institutions of higher learning in 30 key metrics to come up with its list. Not surprisingly, the firm lists Dartmouth College in Hanover, Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, and UNH in Durham. Dartmouth was first in many categories except net-cost and on-campus crime; Saint A's was second and third in a number of categories in the state; UNH was first in on-campus crime and second or third in many other categories, including graduation rate. Read the full list of best college rankings here. NH Officials Mourn Colin Powell Both state and officials mourned the death of Colin Powell on Monday, the former secretary of state and general. "Today we lost an individual who embodied the traits of loyalty, strength, and a deep commitment to public service," Gov. Chris Sununu said. "Colin Powell devoted himself to the betterment of this country and of every American in all that he did. His legacy and character is one we must remember, and one that we should each seek to emulate in all that we do." U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who serves on the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, commended Powell for living his life, in service, to the United States, in many different roles. "He broke down barriers when he became the first Black U.S. Secretary of State, opening doors and creating overdue opportunity for others to follow in his footsteps," she said. "I hope all Americans will join me in honoring his memory and remembering his immense contributions that made our country and world a safer place. His passing is a heartbreaking loss for our nation, and my thoughts are with his family during this tremendously difficult time."
