GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. ARRESTS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Firoz Ali, 57, of the 300 block of Montgomery Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 15, in the 2000 block of Colfax Avenue. He was released on a D-bond with a court date set for Nov. 30. Melanie Peterson, 57, of the 1900 block of Burr Oak, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Oct. 15, in the 1900 block of East Lake Avenue. She was released on a D-bond and assigned a court date of Dec. 3. Alvaro Ramirez, 44, of the 3100 block of Highland Avenue, Berwyn, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 1:12 a.m Oct. 17, in the 2500 block of Willow Road. He was released on a D-bond and was assigned a court date of Nov. 8. LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT Denis Nelson, 45, of the 8400 block of W. Dempster Street, Niles, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Oct. 14, following an investigation of a traffic crash that occurred on Sept. 22. He was released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of Nov. 12. POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE Sara Thompson, 27, of the 800 block of St. John's Avenue, Highland Park, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 10:55 a.m. Oct. 11, following an investigation in the 300 block of Glenview Road. She was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse. WARRANT Yadamkhuu Narangerel, 37, of the 9100 block of N. Lincoln Avenue, Des Plaines, is accused of having a warrant for a valid outstanding failure to appear (driving under the influence), and was arrested at 4:49 a.m. Oct. 12, at the Glenview Police Department, 2500 E. Lake Avenue. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse. RETAIL THEFT Matthew Struk, 33, of the 4100 block of Cove Lane, Glenview, is accused of retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was arrested at 12:23 p.m. Oct. 12, following the investigation of a theft in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of Nov. 30. LAST WEEK: Customer Makes Lewd Remarks, Flees Business INCIDENTS HIT-AND-RUN CRASHA resident in the 2600 block of Independence Avenue reported at 7:46 a.m. Oct. 5, their mailbox, located at the end of their driveway near the street, was struck by a black vehicle, possible Acura MDX. The driver of the vehicle exited the car, assessed the damage and left the area without notifying the homeowner. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT An employee at the Glenview Park District called police at 8:14 a.m. Oct. 13, to report spray paint on the walls, doors and toilet in the bathroom at Richardson Park, 1950 Westleigh Drive. TRESPASSING An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 1:39 p.m. Oct. 14, a customer creating a disturbance. Officers located and spoke with the customer. The customer was given trespass notice to the business. ORDINANCE VIOLATION A resident was issued a village ordinance citation for possession of tobacco by a minor at 2 p.m. Oct. 14, following an investigation in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue. DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE An Elmwood Park resident was cited at 5:26 p.m. Oct. 14, for driving on a suspended driver's license, improper turning, following the investigation of a traffic crash at Milwaukee Avenue and Zenith Drive. They were released on an I-bond with a court date set for Nov. 12. IDENTITY THEFT A Patriot Boulevard resident reported at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 15, they received an email stating their computer had a virus and to contact a phone number. The resident spoke with an unknown person and provided bank information. THEFT An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Glenview Road called police at 1:46 p.m. Oct. 15, to report an ex-employee stole from the business while employed there. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY Police responded to a business in the 2000 block of Lehigh Avenue at 8:28 p.m. Oct. 15, for a business alarm. Upon arrival, officers found a shattered front window. Reported loss is $1,500.A resident in the 400 block of Warren Road reported at 8:48 a.m. Oct. 16, someone attempted to gain entry to their attached garage.BATTERY An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported at 11:15 p.m. Oct. 15, being battered by an ex-employee. RETAIL THEFT An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road called police at 3:22 p.m. Oct. 16, to report three suspects entered the store, cut merchandise from the displays, and fled the business. Reported loss is $6,000. CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY An employee from the Glenview Park District reported at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 16, damage to the men's bathroom at Little Bear Park, 2598 Chestnut Ave. An unknown person damaged the bathroom stall divider. Reported loss is $800. BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE A Northbrook resident reported at 8:47 p.m. Oct. 17, a wallet stolen from the interior of their unlocked vehicle as the vehicle sat parked, unoccupied, in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Reported loss is $700. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A resident in the 3000 block of Mary Kay Lane called police at 12:05 p.m. Oct. 18, to report a male rang their doorbell and said he needed to turn the electricity off. The homeowner allowed the male to enter their home. An inventory of the home after the male left revealed missing items. Stay Patched In!
