EDINA, MN — Edina residents who plan to vote by mail in the Nov. 2 municipal election should request a ballot by Tuesday, according to election officials. Doing so will leave enough time for officials to send out a ballot and for it to be returned. Mail-in ballots will not count if they are received after Election Day. Voters can request a mail-in ballot here. Key dates to know for early voting Early voting period: Sept. 17 — Nov. 1Early registration deadline: Tuesday, Oct. 12Suggested deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot: Tuesday, Oct. 19Election Day, deadline to return mail-in ballot: Tuesday, Nov. 2.Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.Edina residents who want to vote early in person can do so at Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St. Early voting is available at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays through Oct. 29; from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30; and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1. Six candidates are vying for four seats on the Edina School Board. Incumbents Erica Allenburg and Owen Michaelson are running alongside Michael Birdman, Karen Gabler, Dan Arom and Nicole Schnell. All six candidates participated Sept. 23 in a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Edina.
