BERKELEY, CA — Nearly 1,400 Berkeley elementary school students are without school bus service this week after transportation staffers were exposed to COVID-19, KRON reports. The Berkeley Unified School District employees were exposed to the virus last week and are required to quarantine through Thursday, according to the report. The district is providing school bus service for special needs students with individual education plans throughout the week, the report said. Bus service is expected to resume for all students on Friday, BUSD spokesperson Trish McDermott told the television station. "Unfortunately, in this particular incident impacted not just our drivers but our scheduler and our router and our dispatcher," McDermott told KRON. "Other staff members who typically would have stepped up. This was not anticipated. The level of exposure." Read more at KRON
