GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The New York Police Department is searching for a man who stabbed a 26-year-old near the turnstiles of a Greenwich Village train station at the beginning of October.
The fight began around 4:17 a.m. on Oct. 2 in front of 135 West 3rd Street and ended within the train entrance of the A, C, and E lines at West 3rd Street and Sixth Avenue, police said. NYPD did not send out information about the stabbing, though, until Monday night.
Police did not specify what started the fight, but the stabber followed the 26-year-old into the Greenwich Village station. The two men then squared up with each other, and the unidentified man took out a knife and stabbed the other man in the stomach, police said.
The stabber fled to the downtown platform. Emergency services transported the 26-year-old in stable condition to the NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
