NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport City Council is set for its regular meeting Monday night and Patch took a closer look at the agenda before officials convene. City Attorney Ron Davis told Patch that the measure would see certain employees see a small bump in pay, before providing the example of a paramedic having to work midnight shift. He pointed out that, in the past, the city has given similar incentives to firefighters who are also paramedics, but said the measure on Monday night's agenda will be geared toward recruiting and retaining more paramedics. - The Council will vote on a measure that would see the city administrator enter into an agreement with Craig R. Wedderspoon for creation and production of shade structures and benches for the Northport Riverwalk. This is in line with other immediate efforts by the city to boost walkability and beautification in Northport. - The Council will hear first readings for a long list of properties to be be considered for annexation into the city limits. These measures will not be voted on until the next Council meeting. These properties include: 1.52 acres located at 9810 Charlie Shirley Road0.50 acres located at 8425 Baptist Campground Road 0.9 acres east of Hwy 69, north of Hamnertown Road 1.23 acres located at 8915 Highway 69 172.91 acres located east of Highway 69, north of Hamnertown Road1.84 acres located at 8506 Bell Drive 3.5 acres located east of Highway 69, north of Hamnertown Road 2.18 acres located at 8502 Bell Drive 2.57 acres located at 8520 Bell Drive 0.95 acres located at 517 Martin Road East 8360 Coleman Drive Approximately 1 acre located south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
