Silverside Detectors is hiring a Mechanical Assembly Technician to work on a manufacturing line building radiation detectors. Silverside is a small and fast-growing team, so there are many opportunities for advancement .
Tasks include (but are not limited to):
Perform high-precision manual assembly of production units according to work instructionsInspect incoming parts against specificationsOperate test equipment and record data according to established proceduresInspect production units to ensure conformity to specificationsPackage and ship productPerform maintenance on production equipment (as trained)Perform quality assurance on the detectors as per work instructionsClean production areaAssist engineers and technicians in setup of manufacturing equipmentAssist in periodic inventory controlOther tasks as instructed by supervisor
Strong candidates will display the following characteristics:
Experience in electrical or mechanical assembly a plusMechanical aptitude, good with your hands, good hand/eye coordinationHigh school degree or GED equivalentQuick learner, able to work independently to specified instructionsAttention to detailDedication to qualityGood communication skills, English speakingAble to work on feet all day; able to lift 25 poundsExperience working on assembly lines, clean room assembly, prototype production lines, or other production environments a plusAuthorization to work in the U.S.
