USC Paid Research Study for Children ages 8-12!

We are currently recruiting for our PAID study at the USC Brain & Music Lab! We are conducting a study funded by the National Institute of Health that investigates the impact of music training/education on children's social and emotional development. Through our research, we hope to advocate for greater access to extracurricular activities and enrichment programs for kids of all different backgrounds. Here is who can participate: Children who... - Are 8-12 years old - Are residing in the Los Angeles area - Are monolingual native English speakers - Have had at least 2 years of music training/education or none at all There are two parts to our study: (1) a Zoom assessment about 1.5 hours long that will consist of some fun games and questionnaires and (2) an in-person visit to USC about 2.5 hours long that will consist of an MRI and EEG. Both are non-invasive and we have worked with hundreds of kids who have had fun experiences with these since they love to see how science works! Participants are compensated $15/hour for approximately 5 hours of participation, amounting to a total of $75 per child.
