Guitarist Ready to Jam!

Hey all! My name is Jordan. 32 but have been a guitarist/bassist for 19 years and loving every second of it. I haven’t played a gig in too long and cannot WAIT to again. I used to be a bassist in a number of bands that played regularly but got caught up in just normal day to day life, working, girlfriend, and stopped playing in bands but never stopped playing. I am a big hiker/outdoor guy so I am always hiking with the acoustic on my back and singing. I’ve met a ton of people that way and it’s always a blast. Duane Allman had a quote (paraphrasing) saying the reason he loves music is because it can’t hurt anyone. It can only do good. Words or lyrics can hurt someone but a musical note can’t and that’s why it’s so pure. I love that quote so much. (If anyone has any info on an open mic night btw, I’d really appreciate a quick email if you could.) When it comes to music, I legitimately will listen to anything because you can find influence in every style. I was fortunate enough to work at a job where I could have headphones on and listen to music all day throughout 2010-2021. A few of my favorite of all time (I could talk music all day): George Harrison (that slide…) Brian Wilson The Eels The Allman Brothers Band Local H Anything Robert Fripp is in/King Crimson Genesis (like Nursey Cryme to Wind and Wuthering personally are my favorite but I respect their later work.) Joy Division Lynyrd Skynyrd **John Frusciante** Jimi Hendrix Dead Kennedys The Descendents Bad Religion (it’s just a band name by the way if that puts you off; their lead singer is a PHD and lecturer at UCLA.) Duane Allman (RIP Skydog) Soundgarden Simon and Garfunkel Ice-T Rakeem “The Rza, the giza…”haha Wu-Tang Fan here. ELO are criminally underrated and Jeff Lynne. Jaco Pastorius Otis Redding Absolutely love the old school “doo wop” group…songs like Oh Girl, Since I Don’t Have You (PGH Proud!). My buddy told me once that you like songs that would be on the American Graffiti Soundtrack and I loved that line. A band set up like the original allman brothers or lynyrd Skynyrd would be my ultimate dream as Duane Allman is my favorite guitarist and the way he went about it was the right way. That being said, I am just down to jam with anyone with an open mind about music. If I don’t give it a shot now, then I’d be kicking myself down the road. I play daily and, about 7/8 years ago, I started doing 4/5 hours a day and have kept that up. If I’m watching the pens game, I’m playing. Actually, some of my favorite riffs I’ve thought of were improvised right after a big penguins goal haha! I record on voice memos when I play too just so I don’t forget the ideas that come out during a 25m jam so if ya wanna hear anything too.
