POSITION SUMMARY: A City Service Worker for the City of Bozeman Cemetery Department performs a variety of duties for burial services including locating graves using plat maps and surveyor’s tape, strips sod, operating a backhoe to excavate graves, setting greens and lowering device, backfilling graves and replaces sod. The position includes a variety of grounds maintenance duties, including repairing sunken graves, irrigation of cemetery grounds, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, mowing, plowing and sanding roads, snow removal at grave sites, herbicide application, and tree and bush pruning as necessary. The duties of this position are completed under general supervision, but a high level of individual judgment is pertinent. This is a full-time opportunity with many benefits! REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED; and • At least 1-3 years-experience in maintenance, construction and repair of park-related grounds, trails and related buildings; and in the operation, service and minor repair of a variety of light and heavy duty equipment, including turf and trail equipment, irrigation related experience and general shop equipment; or • Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
