Description
I'm customizing & converting my 1978 Volkswagen Riviera bus to 100% electric using a kit from EV West. Looking for someone near Seattle to hire for any aspect of this. I have a budget prepared to spend on all parts & labor to complete the EV conversion.
Right now, the van is in the shop being de-ICE-ed. I have the EV conversion kit in hand. Haven't purchased batteries yet. Roughly planning on 6-8 Tesla Model S, 2 battery boxes in gas tank area + inner cabin. Open to a different battery config if it extends the range without increasing weight.
If you're in the Seattle area to hire for large portions of the work, I can tow it to you - esp. for fabricating battery boxes, wiring, programming, testing & troubleshooting.
I have a detailed quote from EV Works (on Bainbridge), helpful for spec's, but a sky high bid only to install 5 Tesla Model S batteries.
I live on Vashon Island, where the van will also live, in my driveway, covered by a crappy tarp while I DIY & hack away until I find you or someone else to help realize my dream. I'm a professional sculptor so I'm good at finish work. I can fab all the last bits & button her up if you're available to get the EV system installed & running. I can document the process, and post progress w/ shout outs & mentions if you want. I have 22K Instagram followers.
You must show experience or demonstrate proficiency with EV conversions or electrical engineering. Experience & proficiency with vintage VW Buses is also highly recommended.
If you aren't available to hire, maybe you know someone else in the Seattle area?
Any help is appreciated,
