The Meadow, your favorite neighborhood salt, chocolate, bitters, and flowers shop is hiring a seasonal Shipping Clerk (30+ hours/week) with the option of becoming a permanent employee. We are open to considering candidates with varying levels of commerce, fulfillment, and shipping experience. Our perfect candidate has the following attributes: ● An obsession with customer satisfaction and an equal obsession with details ● An unmatched aesthetic prowess -- you'll keep our shop the way you keep your house and ship beautiful packages ● Superior work ethic and can-do attitude ● Superb verbal communication skills ● Ability to multitask and work independently for hours on end Responsibilities for Shipping Clerk include: ● Ensure all shipments are packaged beautiful and arrive safely to our customers ● Accurately package, label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges ● Respond in person, over the phone, and via email daily to customer service inquiries for the entire company (Portland, OR and New York) Qualifications for the Shipping Clerk include: ● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as many packages are heavy (salt blocks!) ● Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining uncomprimising attention to detail ● Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing ● Experience using a computer ● Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance ● Personal accountability and integrity are paramount, as a shipping clerk is tasked with an accurate accounting of all inventory ● Relevant customer service experience is a plus, as our shipping clerk interacts with customers to replace lost or damaged goods Your Schedule is Monday to Friday: The Meadow NW 23rd 9am to 6pm Your workspace: is located at 805 NW 23rd Ave. in beautiful, lived in a 450 square foot shop filled to the brim with gorgeous craft salts, artisan chocolate bars from all over the world, small batch cocktail bitters, books, and fresh-cut flowers. This is truly one of the most magical places to work in Portland, OR. About Us: We have been in business since 2006, opening our first little retail shop on N. Mississippi Ave. In 2010 we opened a second shop in New York City. In 2013 we opened a third shop, and the next year we started Bitterman Salt Co. and began sharing the story of craft salt nationwide.
