Who We Are Metro Overhead Door, Inc., the Portland metro area’s largest overhead and garage door company, is seeking applicants for an non-exempt, full-time, Warehouse Associate. For more information about our Company, we encourage applicants to view our About Us page at: JOB SUMMARY Warehouse Associates are responsible for receiving, stocking, and moving materials within the warehouse. Warehouse Associates assist with shop loading, job supply preparation, building maintenance and janitorial assistance, as well as other technical and administrative tasks needed to support the department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Loading and unloading warehouse materials to and from delivery or company vehicles. • Materials stocking, shop loading, and job supply preparation. • Building maintenance and janitorial services across multiple buildings. • Clean and maintain shop equipment as needed. • Ensure technicians have supplies they need to complete assigned tasks. • Provide technical assistance to project managers, sales personnel, technicians, and the shop supervisor as needed. • Work with other department staff and managers to provide on-going support and encourage a collaborative teamwork environment. • Other ad hoc duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE • High School Diploma/GED preferred. • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret equipment manuals and procedures in English. • Must have active driver license and driving record accepted by the Company’s Auto Insurance underwriting requirements. Trailer hauling experience preferred. • Must be able to identify safety hazards and comply with OSHA rules and regulations. • Aptitude for mechanics and a familiarity and understanding of operating hand tools, band/circular saws, drill impact, grinder, forklift, scissor lift, and other tools or equipment as needed. • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and managers. • Ability to quickly review, analyze, and prioritize tasks to solve problems as they come up. • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurements, decimals, fractions, computation of figures, amounts, rates, ratios, percentages) • Must be able to pass DOT certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS (PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL) The following capabilities are required in order to perform the essential functions of this position. Bending, crouching, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in small areas may be required. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, exceptional eye-hand coordination. • Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. and must be able to use hand or power tools and use heavy machinery and equipment (lifts, trailers, etc) • May be exposed to various environmental changes such as weather or excessive noise. • May be exposed to general household cleaning solutions. 40 hours, paid weekly Benefits: 401K match, profit sharing, annual bonus, medical/dental/vision, short term & long term disability, life insurance policy.
