I’m a 41 year-old guitar player who has never gigged but regularly writes music. I’m looking for a drummer, a bassist, and likely another guitarist to regular play together and maybe write original material and play live. I’ve got a full studio at my house in the M Streets near SMU with drums, guitars, recording setup, amps, and bass. I’ve also got a Moog synth and drum machine. Mostly looking for the fun of playing along with people who have similar tastes and experience for some low-stakes fun, but I’m ultimately seeking to host scheduled sessions with a regular group of people on weekends or nights. My tastes run to indie rock from 2000 onward (Strokes, Hold Steady, Cloud Nothings, Japandroids, Arcade Fire, Fucked Up, Car Seat Headrest, National, War on Drugs, Courtney Barnett, TV ON the Radio, Parquet Courts, Wavves) 80s new wave and college rock (Husker Du, Replacements, Inxs, Sonic Youth Dinosaur Jr, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine) Also into some harder stuff and patch rock (Queens of the Stone Age, Death from Above, Black Angels, Mastadon, Wolves in the Throne Room, Death Grips, Fugazi, NIN) I welcome folks with different tastes, I just figured I would share some of my varied influences.
