My brother, Howard Beattie used to live in Columbus. He was a long-time parter of Anne Dibble, who lived on East Como Avenue. She has since died. Before he retired, Howard worked as a mechanic in the Columbus area at Rolls Royce, Eric's European Motors Repair Shop (may not be the proper name), and at a facility servicing and repairing fire trucks. He used to be well known as the guy who rode an old one-speed bike in his regular duds on extended bike trips (like the Columbus to Portsmouth event) amongst hundreds of others in their snazzy bike gear on fancy, well equipped bicycles. He had brown hair (still does!) and a handlebar mustache. He actually was struck by lightning twice on one of his local bike trips and lived to tell about it! Currently, Howard is quite ill in the Tucson, Arizona area. Just want to connect with anyone who might be interested in dropping him a line or making a call to him before he passes on.
