Job description Self Employed Maintenance Worker/Handyman Full Job Description: WWe are looking for a experience and reliable maintenance worker to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of company premises and perform all maintenance activities required according to HPD requirements to ensure the upkeep of Agency facilities and the safety of the people we support. This position requires solid knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, and working knowledge of building systems and NYC local laws. · The ability to listen, understand and execute on assigned tasks. · Knowledge and ability to comply with safety standards and procedures. · Must have a valid driver license and able to drive to multiple location around the one zip code · Required to work on weekends · Understand how to access building violations Must be able to perform apartment repairs that include painting, plastering, light plumbing (such as stoppages, faucet installations, kitchen sink leaks), light electrical (such as changing light fixtures, light switches/outlets), flooring/tile replacement, etc. The maintenance worker may be required to lift equipment weighing in excess of one hundred pounds, after work is complete and will be required to frequently lift ladders, and other hardware and maintenance materials and equipment. Responsibilities: • The applicant must have relevant building maintenance skills including, plumbing, electrical, boiler, roof, windows as well as minor plaster and painting. • Perform repairs and maintenance in the building, apartments, and all building systems according to had requirements • Communicate with tenants • Responsible for cleaning all apartments where maintenance work was performed • Identify and report the need for major repairs Job Type: Full-time Starting Pay: $18.50 hourly (Based on Experience) Experience: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position.
