Description
Want to learn how to target shoot with your .22 rifle? Join us on Saturday, Nov. 13 and learn the basics of rifle marksmanship. This clinic is designed to prepare you for target shooting or hunting. The class will include instruction sessions in the classroom and on the range. During the classroom portion of the clinic, we will discuss safety, sight alignment and breathing. We will then go over the best ways to consistently "punch holes" in your target. At the range, we will have a range safety briefing, verify sight-in and have range time on paper targets. What to expect: The event is open to all participants ages 17 and up (16 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult). You will need to bring your own .22 rifle and ammunition (no hyper-velocity ammunition). Eye and ear protection is required. Some will be available for sale if you do not have your own. As we will be shooting on the range, all participants will need to fill out an event waiver when signing up.COVID-19 All participants are strongly encouraged to wear a mask at all times except while actively shooting. Per CDC guidelines, those who are not fully vaccinated are recommended to wear a mask at all times during this event. Social distancing is expected and we will use every other bench to maintain a minimum of six feet of spacing. If you are sick or experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, please stay home. All high-touch areas or surfaces will be sanitized prior to the class. Hand sanitizer will be available for participant use. It is the DWR's goal is to keep our staff and the public safe. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing and following all restrictions and recommendations from state and local health officials. We encourage you to do the same and to practice social distancing and responsible recreation during any outdoor adventures. Any changes to COVID-19 regulations may affect our events and available opportunities.
