Ride out to Umstead with us to camp in the cold! Fall is the best time to camp! Join us on Saturday, November 13th. Meet at the shop (707 N Person St. 27604) at 5pm. Rollout at 5:30pm. The route is about13 miles to Umstead's Youth Camp on cyclist friendly streets and greenway. Headcount is limited this go round, so please cancel your ticket or let us know if you can no longer make it so someone else can have your spot :) This is an ALL INCLUSIVE campout. All riders of all backgrounds and experience are encouraged to join the fun! We will ensure any new or hesitant riders are kept with the group. Hit us up if you're new to bike camping and are missing some gear or not sure what you need. We have lots of new and used gear in store, and can usually finagle loaner items too. - There will be plenty of tent and hammock camping spots. - You gotta carry your own gear and food. All items must be packed out the following morning, so plan with that in mind. - There's a water pump at the site (the rangers say it's fine to drink after letting it run for a bit!) and a pit toilet. - While dogs are allowed in Umstead State Park, they are not allowed at this campsite. - Please, no bluetooth speakers or radios. - The park does not allow alcohol or drugs. If rangers see any evidence of these, we will not be allowed to camp here anymore :(
