Sweet Potato Pie Band Return to Badin NC The all-girl North Carolina-based bluegrass band, Sweet Potato Pie, has entertained for guests of the President in The White House in 2019. The band has six members, all living in different NC cities and have been performing together for over 10 years. Banjo picker Crystal Richardson explained. “Performing at the White House has been on Sonya’s (Stead) bucket list for years, and when she gets her heart set on something, you can pretty much be sure it is not about ‘if’ it is going to happen, it is only a matter of ‘when’. ” They play a variety of musical instruments and sing.
