Come join us for a spirited visit to the 1897 Poe House and witness spooky vignettes complete with a few ghosts! The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex will host “Hallowe’en Revels Night Tours of the 1897 Poe House” WED-FRI nights October 20-22 and Oct 27-29 from 6:00-10:00 pm. Admission is free, but RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Tours will run on the half hour each night and will be limited to 15 people per tour. Masks are required. Come join us for a spirited visit to the 1897 Poe House and witness spooky vignettes complete with a few ghosts. This is not your traditional Poe House tour! Guests will be transported back in time, witnessing a series of short vignettes while becoming immersed in early 20th century cultural norms, music, and poetry through this scripted short play. This is a unique opportunity to experience historical theater in an actual historic home. Tours last 20 minutes and are limited to 15 people per tour. For a more detailed look at the Poe House and family history, attend a tour during regular museum hours. The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex consists of a regional history museum, the 1897 Poe House, and Arsenal Park. Explore two floors of exhibits in our main museum building, take a guided tour of the 1897 Poe House to learn about life in early 20th century Fayetteville, and view the ruins of the Fayetteville Arsenal which was destroyed at the end of the Civil War in 1865. Admission is free.
