Salute To Veterans-Officer Club Newport is a FREE event for residents of RI Veterans Home and 1 guest and to support RI Military Lounge Residents of the RI Veterans Home were locked / shut ins for over a year during the pandemic. The Salute To Veterans-Newport RI event THANKS our veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice; offering FREE tickets to the residents and guest. Tables for RI Vets Home will be setup in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions and additional restrictions to ensure theresidents only inter act with vacinated individuals. All COVID 19 restrictions will be followed and enforced. The event is open to the public, however, all attendess who do not have access to the base names must be emailed to itamri4vets@gmail; attendees name will be listed on a roster at the base entrance. All attendess MUST have a valid ID to access the base. John Perrotta's ComedyFactorRI provides the cast of comedians to ensure all attendees will be laughin and the officer's club venue provides the perfect setting for th event. Veterans are encouraged to use this event as a holiday social activity for their groups. Tables will be allocated to veterans from respected groups( Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Vietnam Veterans of America, etc...). Any civilian or military goup attending can request tables to be set aside for their group; purchase of table of 10 are discounted at $400. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Rhode Island Lounge( 2nd floor) ; the lounge provides military travelers a safe place to relax while awaiting their flights at TF Greene Airport. The lounge provides FREE snacks and refreshments to members of the armed forces traveling and veterans. In addition, provides any assistance to those stranded members of the military whose flight has been delayed or canceled. The lounge is operated by the Rhode Island Military Organization, IRS non-profit 501 (c) 3 , all staff is volunteer and all donations 100% are used to operate the lounge. Without private donations, the lounge would not exist.
