Second Screen Cult Cinema and Dark Door Spirits present John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness
OCT. 27: A few days before Halloween, we're paying our friends at Dark Door Spirits in Tampa a long-overdue revisit, and bringing what's possibly John Carpenter's most underappreciated – and creepiest – film: Prince of Darkness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The story centers on a group of quantum physics students who assist a Catholic priest (played by cult film icon Donald Pleasance) in investigating an ancient cylinder of liquid discovered in a monastery, which they come to find is a sentient, liquid embodiment of Satan. If the plot sounds ridiculous, IT IS (and that's before Alice Cooper shows up as a homeless zombie) – but it's also a helluva lot of fun to watch with a crowd of game cinephiles, especially when sipping on Dark Door's delectable craft cocktails.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Suggested donation is $5 per guest, which goes directly toward supporting our nonprofit series' events. Eventbrite tickets will be available soon. We're still playing it safe with the Delta variant surge in COVID-19 variant cases, so seating will be limited to the first 50 guests and masks are recommended.
