MARBLEHEAD, MA —Two new members of the Marblehead Police Department were both of the class of 2016 at Marblehead High School. Charles Christopher Sweeney and Robert Owen Picariello were appointed as officers and will next attend the police academy. Picariello went on to attend the University of Alabama where he earned a criminal justice degree. Sweeney served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2017 to 2021.
