Job Title: Felter Job Brief: We are looking for a responsible individual to help make hair mats for our Clean Wave program. It is important for a felter to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as working well with others. The ideal candidate will have great physical endurance, a keen eye for detail and diligence. Responsibilities: Remove debris (dirt, pins, wrappers, etc.) from hair and fur donations Weight and separate the fiber into individual bags Organize long and short hair into specific groups Undertake occasional custodial work, feeding / cleaning fish, keeping place tidy Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash and tidying furniture Sweep floors Perform maintenance and minor repairs such a replacing needles on machine Report mat, scrims, booms Report major damages and oversee repairs Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors and closing windows Requirements: Attention to detail and conscientiousness Very good physical condition and strength High school diploma is preferred but not required Ability to work independently and without immediate supervision Watch our Videos here:
