At Artworks, clients are like family. -Job Description- Artworks Foundry is a truly unique place to work and we’re looking for the right person to add to our fun, high-energy team. As part of the shell room team you will play a vital role in our weekly production cycle. In the shell room wax patterns are dipped in a liquid slurry and coated in sand to form a ceramic shell. The process requires coordination between members of the department and critical attention to detail. In addition to the primary shell room duties we are also looking for someone with the skills to assist with general foundry maintenance. Typical tasks could include replacing light fixtures, machinery maintenance, tool repair, organizing and receiving supplies, sweeping the shop floor or installing a new computer terminal. General construction, welding (TIG/MIG), and electrical experience are all great skills. -Responsibilities- Perform duties associated with dipping and coating of wax patterns for casting Assisting with cleanup and department preparation each week Assist with general shop repair, machinery maintenance, and upkeep Keep repair logs and coordinate with outside vendors as needed -Expectations and Qualifications- Be physically capable of frequent lifting up to 50 lbs On-time with access to reliable transportation Be able to perform independently and meet weekly timelines Operate machinery as intended and follow safety requirements -Desired Qualifications- Bilingual English/Spanish Previous foundry experience, an interest in lost wax casting and bronze sculpture Previous maintenance experience, tool repair or electrical experience You must have a friendly disposition, be organized and cool under pressure with a desire to learn and love our business.
