MANCHESTER, CT — A pop-up art exhibit is showcasing future concepts for Manchester's parks and trails. Following the recent completion of the town of Manchester's new Parks and Facilities Master Plan, organizers are moving into the next phase of showing off the plan to local residents. The first initiative is a pop-up art exhibit introducing the plan through visuals accompanied by informational narratives at Work Space beginning Oct. 25. The exhibit is slated to open with lunchtime reception starting at 11:30 a.m. The "Our Parks, Our Vision, Our Future exhibit" will include a two dimensional tour of the following parks: Charter Oak Park (West), Mt. Nebo, Globe Hollow Swimming Area, Case Mountain, West Side Recreation Area, Northwest Park, the Nike Site, Center Springs and Robertson Park as well as an extensive look at trail enhancements and connectivity throughout town. "Those attending the exhibit will get an inside look at what our parks and recreation facilities can be as we consider the future," town officials said. "This exhibit and final findings of the plan reflect the input of hundreds of Manchester residents who participated during the engagement period of the planning process." Those attending the exhibit will receive an Our Parks, Our Future, Our Vision commemorative book, which tells the story of the plan through imagery and words, officials said. The pop-up art exhibit is slated to run from Oct. 25 through Oct. 29 and is open to the public. Work Space is located at 903 Main St. The exhibit will be open on Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. 8p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To view the entire plan visit bettermanchester.com.
