PRINCETON, NJ — Gov. Phil Murphy hit the campaign trail in Princeton, visiting three local businesses on Saturday. Murphy along with NJ District 16 Senate candidate Andrew Zwicker, and Assembly candidate Roy Freiman visited three Princeton businesses — Hamilton Jewelers, Small World Coffee, and La Mezzaluna. They were accompanied by Mayor Mark Freda "Great to see the Governor in Princeton again," Freda said in a Facebook post. "Princeton is a great place to live in and to visit." Murphy's visit comes close on the heels of the Early Vote Rally held on Friday, which saw First Lady Jill Biden stump for the governor. Sheila Oliver and Democrats up and down the ballot have the support they need to win this November," the First Lady said in a video message recorded on Friday. Former President Barack Obama will be holding an "early vote rally" with Murphy in Newark on Saturday, Oct. 23. Murphy is facing a challenge from Republican nominee, Jack Ciattarelli, Madelyn Hoffman of the Green Party, Gregg Mele of the New Jersey Libertarian Party and Joanne Kuniansky of the Socialist Workers Party. In NJ District 16 which includes Princeton, Assemblyman Zwicker of South Brunswick is running for Senate and will take on Republican candidate Michael Pappas.
