Five year old male akita is looking for a new owner who has experience with dominant breeds. Nugget is a long-coat akita, but he is currently sporting short fur. He is healthy with up-to-date shots. He has a history of a human bite in 2017 which occurred prior to him being neutered and undergoing training. He has not had any human incidents since then and socializes with humans on walks and visits. He can be aggressive towards other dogs, which resulted in a neighbor’s dog needing medical treatment in 2021. Nugget has a strong prey drive. He is not safe off-leash, but he does respond well to a prong collar and chain collar. He requires regular walks and/or a fenced/secure yard to run in. He also still enjoys squeaky toys. Strangely, he has a fondness for cats, but requires a proper introduction. Overall he is sweet but dominant. He is somewhat immature for his age, yet he is a keen defender/protector of his territory. He requires a confident master who is comfortable with giving him a hard correction when necessary.
