JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old Chicago woman is no longer in the Will County Jail after posting 10 percent of her $10,000 bail over the weekend. Joliet police say officers recovered a loaded gun inside a car being driven by Chavaughn Capers on Friday night in the city's Forest Park area. Capers was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition and having no Firearm Owner's Identification card, Joliet police announced. Officers arrested Capers after stopping her car for a traffic violation near Draper Avenue and Maple Road, police reports show. "While officers were speaking to Capers, they observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle," police reports reflect. "Upon search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun in a bag inside of the vehicle. Capers was taken into custody without incident."
