ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst saw the lowest number of new coronavirus cases in a week since late July, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, the city had seen 5,098 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 32 from a week before. The week before last, Elmhurst experienced an increase of 43 new cases. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst stayed the same in the last week, at 70. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1.4 percent.
