Oct. 16: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Route 111 in Smithtown at 9 a.m. Someone reported that a person was able to gain access to their cell phone and change account information, police said. The thief managed to use that information to withdraw money from bitcoin accounts, police said.Oct. 12: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Middle Country Road in Nesconset from Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. Someone stole catalytic converters off of two 2021 Toyota Tacomas parked at Smithtown Toyota, police said.Oct. 11: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Squire Path in Smithtown from Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. A person stole a 2017 Maserati parked in a driveway on Squire Road in Smithtown, police said. The keys were in the vehicle, police said.
