HOOVER, AL — Spain Park's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season as the top-ranked team in the state, and after defeating Vestavia Hills 3-0 Thursday, the Jags won their region and will compete this week in Huntsville in the Super Regionals. This earned Spain Park the distinction of the "Patch Team of the Week." Although some great candidates for the title made this week's pick difficult (football teams from Mountain Brook, Clay-Chalkville and Hoover put up strong cases for the title), the Jags edged out the other contenders though pure dominance as they seek the 2021 state championship.
