Description
Looking for like-minded musicians for some low-stakes standards sessions.
Just get together as little as once a month (with potential for more) to run through some standards (or not so-standards) from the Real Book.
The goal is just to keep our chops up, or do something different from our other musical projects.
Maybe you play death metal, but have an Epiphone Emperor collecting dust.
Maybe you just started playing bass and want to develop those walking chops.
Maybe you just really miss those music school freshman year jazz ensembles.
Reason doesn't matter, as long as you can read charts and melodies, and listen to others.
No gigs, no recordings, just playing tunes.
Each time before meeting, each person will pick two or three tunes they wanna play and we all learn em.
Spend a few hours playing some tunes. Then maybe enjoy a meal together.
Not looking for perfection, just satisfaction.
Instruments of all types.
I play bass, guitar and dabble on drums and keys (though not well, but that would be great for a setting like this).
And have a moderately decent spot to jam in.
