Seeking Original Metalcore Guitarist
Meets
Inver Grove Heights MN
Description
Ready for the next stage??? Seeking a tour ready second guitarist for an original metalcore style project. You would not have to learn any older songs as this band will launch from scratch (materially speaking). NO COVERS. What you need to be successful: "Tour ready" means, you may have to tour for up to two weeks at a time - two to three times per year with the option to tour a full month. Tour routes are national, and festivals will be scattered throughout the year in various states. We want you on the stage! Please make prior arrangements with work before applying for this position (whether PTO and/or leave without pay) Fair share on expenses - sorry no free riders in this, expect to dish out about $1500-$2000 in personal pocket money per year in dues (recording, merch, travel, videos, photos, PR, etc) Write your part, we prefer a seasoned guitarist that plays Drop B and uses a seven string. Someone who prefers to go direct from a pedal or amp and has a backup rig and second guitar in case of emergencies. Do you like to stand and not move around? Then you are NOT a fit for us. If I'm not personally dodging you as I'm running and jumping over a 2x15 PA speaker while timing the drummers 18 inch crash dive into a breakdown, then we aren't compatible. Production and performance at live shows is a number one priority. Transport on tour - we have a touring rig, 32ft RV with 7x16 ft tall ceiling enclosed trailer. Ah yes, no more sleeping on top of sweaty dudes in the outskirts of Denver, CO. You can actually live comfortably on the road while doing the one thing you love most. GEAR? Yeah, if you jam on a $200 BC Rich with one soap bar stock pickup while hooked up to a 12inch Black Star Combo amp, move along. Most premium guitars go around the $1K and up, but if you’re a seasoned guitarist then you already know this…Line 6 has made some affordable options around the Helix software in pedals, there are more expensive options as well in DI, but we prefer to not use speakers on stage and in our mix. Yes, we use IEMs. It will be essential to have a custom IEM molded driver for your ears (if you don't have one already). We use Shure PSM300 Transmitter P3T, I suggest you pick one up if you don't have one already. We play to a click and use queues live so this is an absolute requirement. Commitment - In MN, you will most likely meet up once a week, give or take depending on availability and focus. Starting off, expect more frequency as we will be building out the EP or album. Practices happen at the guitarists house Inver Grove Heights and are recorded. We record and use a click on everything as soon as the parts/sections are documented. We expect this project to be your main bag, not a side hobby. Though we don't bar members from actively participating in other bands, we just expect this one to take precedence. ROI is given to the band account directly, lessening the burden of future expenses. Startups will have more fees upfront, so expect to shell out more until we get going on the road. Something to keep in mind. A bit about the members in the band already.... The three of us have been playing together for two years now, toured and released an album under a well-known Minneapolis band name. We like to tour and write music, a lot. Come ready. I can't disclose too much more at this time for the ad, but we will talk more on aspirations and other if you meet the above requirements. Thanks!
