Hello! I'll try and keep this as brief as possible, but I feel that the situation behind this post is relevant enough to explain. My mother was in a very abusive relationship for over 5 years, and was finally able to escape the horrible situation. As positive as this may sound, and it is, she had to walk away from everything (including her beloved cat) she owned. All she left with were the clothes on her back. All family heirlooms, family photos, etc. had to be left behind. As tragic as this is, she has been incredibly brave and therefore as her daughter I assured her that I would make sure that adapting to a new life would be as smooth as I could possibly make it for her. She is currently living in her new apartment, but it is totally bare and she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor as of right now. She was unable to withdraw any of her own money and left the situation totally broke as well. That is why I advertised asking for free donations. My husband and I do have a truck and are able to pick up, but if possible would prefer not to have to travel more than 15 miles (from 97030). Here are some things that are especially needed: Area rug (s) Entertainment Center Wall mirrors/wall art decor Lamps/lighting Fake plants Bathroom mats, shower curtain, towels, bathroom stuff in general Small loveseat & recliner Couch pillows Throw blankets Kitchen appliances Computer desk/chair Coffee table Bar stools Sheets, pillows, comforter, headboard for queen size bed Dressers and side tables Curtains That's all that I can think of off the top of my head, but As you can tell when I said empty apartment I was being literal and so any donations will likely be very appreciated. This is an extremely difficult time for our family and especially my mother, I have never seen such strength and I hope that pretty soon she can have her own little sanctuary where she can heal. (As you can see from the photos taken before moved in it could use some serious TLC) Ok so much for keeping it brief!
