WOODEN TOY-MAKING WORKSHOP for kids in Mount Airy

Description

A four-session toy-making workshop is being offered for kids on saturdays in November and December. Parents may enroll their children in four weekly classes ($50 for four sessions) OR may show up for single classes ($20). No experience needed. The first session covers workshop safety and types of wood used, and then students can make a simple wooden toy using sandpaper. The second session involves the rasp (essentially sandpaper on a stick) and making a second toy. The third session involves using a hand-powered drill and screws to make a third toy. The final session involves using a hand-plane to make a toy sailboat. I am an experienced teacher with credentials, clearances, and vaccinations. The workshop will be at my apartment in west mount airy, where I have set up a workshop with four stations. Everyone must wear a mask, and nobody is allowed to make toy guns. No painting will be done.
