Filmed July 5th, 1968 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Live At The Bowl captures the band performing in their own hometown at the apex of their popularity. Directed by the Doors’ keyboard player Ray Manzarek, the film is an important document of counterculture broadly, and California culture specifically. Supporting the release of their third LP “Waiting For The Sun”, the eclectic setlist ranges from familiar crowd pleasers (“Alabama Song”) to extended jam sessions (“When The Music’s Over”) that put the entire range of musical styles the band was known for on display.
