BMW Films 20th Anniversary Screening // The Hire ALL AGES BMW Films celebrates the 20th anniversary of their iconic short film series, The Hire, with proceeds supporting Street Survival. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 6:30 pm Doors // 7:30 pm Sho $20 Advance General Admission All Ages Tickets sales are final & non-refundable *The Parkway Theater requires Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or Negative Test Result for entry to all events.* Twenty years ago, BMW carved a spot in Hollywood history with a series of action-packed short films distributed on the internet, years before the invention of YouTube. Named The Hire, these weren’t commercials of well-waxed cars darting about on curved mountain roads, they were mini-movies executive produced by David Fincher and Ridley Scott, with A-list directors like John Woo (Mission Impossible: 2) and Tony Scott (Top Gun), John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate), Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Wong Kar-Wai (Chungking Express), Guy Ritchie (Snatch), and Alejandro González Iñárritu (The Revenant).  Now all nine films in the series come to The Parkway Theater for a special evening with some of the creators behind these iconic shorts. Running collectively at 90 minutes in length, each film will be screened individually along with a brief introduction and story behind its making.  A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit Street Survival, a safe teen defensive driving program.  Sponsored by Street Survival.org, Northstar Chapter BMW Car Club of America, and Fallon.
